근심에 가득 차, 가던 길 멈춰 서서

잠시 주위를 바라볼 틈도 없다면 얼마나 슬픈 인생일까?

 

나무 아래 서 있는 양이나 젖소처럼

한가로이 오랫동안 바라볼 틈도 없다면

 

숲을 지날 때 다람쥐가 풀숲에

개암 감추는 것을 바라볼 틈도 없다면

 

햇빛 눈부신 한낮, 밤하늘처럼

별들 반짝이는 강물을 바라볼 틈도 없다면

 

아름다운 여인의 눈길과 발

또 그 발이 춤추는 맵시 바라볼 틈도 없다면

 

눈가에서 시작한 그녀의 미소가

입술로 번지는 것을 기다릴 틈도 없다면

 

그런 인생은 불쌍한 인생, 근심으로 가득 차

가던 길 멈춰 서서 잠시 주위를 바라볼 틈도 없다면.

A poor life this if, full of care,
